IMMOKALEE, FL – On Thursday, Collier County deputies arrested Obduliu Godines, 36, after he reportedly stabbed another man at a rooming house on South 4th Street.
The victim was in his room when Godines, who lives in the same building , kicked open the door and came at the man with a knife saying “I’m going to kill you,” according to Collier County deputies.
The man tried to use a backpack as a shield, but Godines managed to stab him in the left arm. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said Godines ran out of the victim’s room and barricaded himself in his own room.
Deputies gave Godines several commands to surrender in English, to which he did not respond. Once those same commands were given in Spanish, he opened his door and came out, dropping the knife on the floor, according to a police report.
Godines was charged with burglary, battery and aggravated battery. He is currently being held at the Collier County Jail without bail.
