OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - On Wednesday, Julian Antonio Pinedo, 18, was arrested after he reportedly stabbed a 14-year-old girl he met on social media. He attacked the young girl after she refused to have sex with him, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
Upon responding to the victim’s home in the 6000 block of N. Bay in Springfield Township, deputies discovered the girl lying on the floor, suffering from multiple stab wounds to her back and abdomen.
Her younger sibling was asleep in the home at the time of the attack, according to court documents.
Pinedo fled the scene before deputies arrived, but was caught a short time after midnight.
He traveled from Illinois to have sex with the girl.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
In a news release, Sheriff Bouchard stated:
Meeting in person with people you have met online can be extremely dangerous. You have no idea of who that person really is or their motivation. Anytime you meet someone via the internet, it is always a very good idea to do so in a public setting and preferably have someone else with you.
Do not share personal information like where you live or other items that will allow a person to locate or track you. In this situation, this was a juvenile and for so many reasons meeting someone in person is a dangerous choice and we always discourage it.
The illegal alien met the minor on Facebook.
Pinedo was charged with attempted murder and is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $2 million cash bond.
