Previously Deported Illegal Alien Raped Autistic Girl In California

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - On January 16, Cathedral City police officers arrested Enrique Bautista-Vasquez, 21, at his apartment on Victoria Drive. The arrest followed a brief investigation in which a 14-year-old girl reported a sexual assault which occurred at the illegal alien’s apartment. 

The victim is autistic, a condition which often causes her to leave her home and aimlessly wander. 

On the night of December 31, she was walking around the campus of nearby Mayfield College, when she was approached by Bautista-Vasquez and forced to walk through a business park, and eventually to his apartment.

A medical exam confirmed that the girl was raped and sodomized, according to police.

In a press release, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated: 

This depraved illegal alien raped and sodomized a child with autism. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee Governor Newsom and his California sanctuary politicians will cooperate and turn this scumbag over to ICE. The state of California has released more than 3,700 violent criminals onto the streets to perpetrate more crimes and victimize more Americans.

Bautista-Vasquez has been charged with lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, rape, sexual assault of a person unable to consent and sexual assault of a victim deemed to be particularly vulnerable. He is currently being held at the John J. Benoit Detention Center on $1 million bail. An ICE detainer has been issued for this Mexican national. 

During a search of his apartment, police discovered fraudulent documents including a  stolen Social Security card and a fake federal Permanent Resident card.

DHS has reported the following timeline of Bautista-Vasquez’s illegal history in this country: 

Vasquez was encountered by Border Patrol on December 16, 2024, after he illegally entered the United States at an unknown time or location. He has a final order of removal also dated December 16, 2024. He was removed. He then re-entered the country illegally and was released by the Biden administration on January 2, 2025, days before President Trump took office
