PINE LEVEL, NC - In the early morning hours of Monday, Rolbin Pacheco, 35, was behind the wheel of a Ford F-150, traveling westbound along Highway 70 in the eastbound lanes, when he struck another vehicle, according to court documents.
The driver of the other vehicle has been identified as 36-year-old Cheston Edwards, a resident of Kinston.
Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Pacheco walked away uninjured after the head-on collision, and was taken into custody by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Pacheco has been charged with reckless driving, driving without a license, DWI and felony death by vehicle. He is currently being held at the Johnston County Detention Center on $1 million bond, as well as an ICE Detainer.
