On Sunday shortly before 2:00 a.m., police responded to the 700 block of Scotland Street, where they discovered a 36-year-old woman lying in an alley, suffering from a brutal sexual assault, according to a police report.
The victim was taken to Riverside Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Apparently, Rodriguez followed the woman as she was leaving the Brickhouse Tavern and attacked her, according to investigators.
Rodriguez is currently being held without bail at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
