Illegal Alien Charged With Fatal DUI/Hit-And-Run Released On House Arrest

RALEIGH, NC - On Tuesday, police arrested Juan Alejandro Sandoval, 24, for the hit-and-run death of a 22-year-old man, which occurred on July 12.

Rony Kevin Velasquez was crossing Atlantic Avenue near Millbrook Road, when he was struck by the pickup truck driven by Sandoval, according to police.

The young man died from his injuries a short time later, after being taken to a local hospital.

Sandoval has been charged with felony death by vehicle, felony hit-and-run, and driving while impaired, and was originally booked into the Wake County Jail on $750,000 bond.

However, the illegal alien has since been released from the jail and placed on “electronic house arrest.”

*Both the Raleigh Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff's Office have refused to comment on the decision that led to Sandoval (an obvious flight risk) being allowed to go home and with an electronic ankle monitor.

Of course, since taking office on December 3, 2018, Sheriff Gerald M. Baker has refused to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and has released many dangerous criminals back into his county, despite ICE detainers being issued against them.

And, this suspect is no exception...Despite the serious nature of the charges, no ICE hold is being honored against Juan Alejandro Sandoval. In fact, he may or not be in the comfort of his own home, at this time.

This set of circumstances is beyond outrageous, even for Wake County!
