SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Despite San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins’ recent vow to protect the illegal alien who is charged with attacking 82-year-old Paul Pelosi, the sheriff’s office which now holds 42-year-old Canadian national David Wayne DePape, is planning on cooperating with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
While both the city of San Francisco along with the county of San Francisco have official ‘sanctuary’ policies which protect criminal aliens from deportation, the county sheriff is apparently making an exception with DePape.
DePape entered the U.S. through the San Ysidro, point of entry from Mexico in 2008 as a temporary visitor, and is now considered to be in the country illegally, according to ICE.
Upon his arrest on October 28, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office began cooperating with ICE after the agency lodged a detainer against DePape.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a sheriff’s deputy told this reporter:
We are enforcing the detainer. [DA Brooke] Jenkins has nothing to do with it.
So, if Depape is given bail or ordered released following his next court appearance on November 28, ICE will be notified by the sheriff’s office and allowed to take custody of the illegal alien.
Depape was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary, threatening staff/family members of a public official, witness tampering, inflicting injury on an elderly adult, false imprisonment of an elderly adult, battery w/serious bodily injury, attempted murder, attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assaulting an immediate family member of a United States official with the intent to retaliate against the official (the last two are federal charges). He is currently being held without bail at the San Francisco County Jail.
DePape has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The suspect lives in an old school bus and has reportedly worked as a male prostitute.
