DEL RIO, TX - On May 10, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended Heriberto Cuevas-Hidalgo, 38, who was traveling with a group of ten other illegal aliens along Highway 57.
In a press release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated:
All subjects were transported to the Eagle Pass Centralized Processing Center. During processing, record checks revealed that a Mexican national, Heriberto Cuevas-Hidalgo, 38, was previously convicted for sexual activity with a minor.
In fact, Cuevas-Hidalgo was convicted of five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in Utah. He was convicted of the charges in July 2015.
The illegal alien who has at least 10 aliases, now faces a charge of felony re-entry after deportation. If convicted, he could receive up to 20 years in federal prison.
