In a press release, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated:
On Sunday, December 5, 2021, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two juvenile females having been inappropriately touched while they were staying overnight at a family member’s home.
Detective J. Wabel of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was assigned the case. Detective Wabel learned the victims disclosed the activity to a trusted adult, who in turn contacted the sheriff’s office.
