DETROIT, MI - On Thursday, Border Patrol agents arrested Juan Dias-Pineda, 51, in White Lake Township, after he illegally crossed into the United States from Canada.
A records check revealed that in April 2020, the Honduran national was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a child (Victim Under 13).
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release stated:
Following his felony conviction in 2020, he was sentenced to 207 days confinement and five years probation. He was ordered removed by an Immigration Judge on May 6, 2021. Dias-Pineda was formally removed to Honduras on June 9, 2021.
Dias-Pineda has been charged with re-entry of an aggravated felon. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.
