Miami-Dade County, FL - On June 1, police arrested Sonia Viviana Domingo-Lopez, 21, and her boyfriend, Alberto Godinez-Lopez, 24, following a brief homicide investigation.
A few days earlier, three men fishing in a canal off of Ingraham Highway discovered a body wrapped in a bed sheet.
The remains turned out to be that of 30-year-old Adan Lopez Lorenzo.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be from multiple wounds inflicted by sharp force.
Under questioning, both suspects confessed to the murder, according to court documents.
Both Domingo-Lopez and Godinez-Lopez have been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. They are both being held at the Miami-Dade Corrections Center on ICE detainers.
No motive for the crime has been released at this time.
