Unlike North Carolina's notorious group of 'sanctuary sheriffs,' Brunswick County Sheriff John. W. Ingram V does enforce U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) holds against illegal aliens booked into the jail he oversees. As such, Delarosa is being held on an ICE detainer, and will not be allowed to simply bond out and continue to be a danger to the community.
