CLEARWATER, FL - On Thursday, Joshua Daniel Pena-Cedillo, 22, was taken into custody by Clearwater police officers at 1229 Sedeeva Circle N. His stepfather reported finding the severed head of the family cat, Cinnamon, placed on a stick in the backyard.
The Patch reported the following:
"Pena-Cedillo told officers two versions of how the cat died. First, he said he strangled it and then he said he placed it alive in a plastic bag and suffocated it. Afterward, he said he cut off the cat's head with an ax and then tried to impale it on a stick. When that effort failed, he taped the cat's head to the stick."
The cat's head was placed next to that of a stuffed animal's head, also affixed to a stick, that the illegal alien has kept in the yard for years, according to a police report.
When officers asked why he committed such a cowardly and brutal act upon the family pet,
Pena-Cedillo informed them that he wanted to "show what he was capable of to someone he was living with.”
Joshua Daniel Pena-Cedillo has been charged with felony cruelty to animals, and is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail on an ICE detainer.
