On October 8, 2019, Flores-Cadiz was arrested by the Raleigh Police Department on a Failure to Appear warrant, stemming from an arrest for Driving Without a License. He was booked into the Wake County Jail, and despite being in the country illegally, was released without notifying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Now, instead of being deported, he has been charged with multiple sex offenses against a child.
