SALISBURY, NC - On September 6, a jury convicted Alejandro Gonzales Lopez, 46, of multiple counts of child sexual assault which involved two victims.
The repeated abuse took place between 2007 and 2017.
Immediately following the verdict, Rowan County District Attorney Brandy Cook stated:
I appreciate the hard work and dedication of Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Cheek, the thorough investigation conducted by the Salisbury Police Department, and the support of the Terrie Hess House Child Advocacy Center…My office was able to hold Lopez accountable for his criminal conduct due to the courage of the child victims who testified in court and the continued partnership between all the agencies.
Lopez was convicted of two counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of child rape, two counts of statutory sex offense with a child and sex offense with a child. He was sentenced to a maximum of 109 years in prison.
The illegal alien is currently being held in the general population at the Granville Correctional Institute in Butner, North Carolina.
