DALLAS, TX – On Sunday, police charged Isaac Trevino, 24, in the death of a 22-year-old man, which occurred a week earlier.
On the morning of January 9, Dallas police officers responded to a call of a body lying in the 2900 block of Municipal Street. The victim, later identified as Ricardo Xavier Rangel, had been shot to death.
In a press release, the Dallas Police Department stated:
Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Isaac Trevino, a 24-year-old Latin male. Trevino was already in the custody of the Dallas County Sheriff for charges unrelated to this murder. He was interviewed by a detective with the Homicide Unit and confessed to shooting and killing the victim.
Trevino has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail on a federal detainer.
