EDINBURG, TX - On May 19, U.S. Border Patrol agents working out of the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended Israel Umana, 46, a previously convicted Salvadoran national.
On June 13, 2017, the illegal alien was convicted in Texas on two counts of indecency of a child with contact and two counts of sexual assault. His victim was a 15-year-old girl.
In January 2019, he was registered as a sex offender and deported.
Umana is facing a charge of felony re-entry after deportation, and if convicted, could receive up to 20 years in federal prison.
