PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ - Last week, Elias Cano, 24, was sentenced for multiple sexual assaults on a girl he was babysitting. Following an investigation, he was arrested on August 10, 2018.
On Wednesday, the now, 11-year-old victim watched with her family on closed-circuit television, as Passaic County Superior Court Judge Sohail Mohammed sentenced Eilias Cano to 25 years in prison, without the possibility of parole.
The Daily Voice reported:
"She’d testified during a trial last October that she was nine when Cano assaulted her, leading to his arrest by detectives with the Passaic County prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit in August 2018."
On October 31, 2019, a jury convicted Cano of two counts of aggravated sexual assault, as well as child endangerment.
