Previously Deported Illegal Alien Charged With Attacking Florida State Trooper

ORANGE COUNTY, FL - On August 18, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) arrested Audain Ruly Perez-Vasquez, 18, after he reportedly attacked a trooper.

Around 6 a.m., FHP Trooper Joseph Simpson responded to a single vehicle crash, and encountered Perez-Vasquez who had just crashed his 2012 Hyundai Elantra into a tree.

When approached, Perez-Vasquez repeatedly punched Simpson in the ribs, leaving Trooper Simpson injured.

Perez-Vasquez then fled on foot, but was soon apprehended.

WESH reported:

FHP says they then learned Perez-Vasquez had recently been arrested in North Carolina for assault with a deadly weapon and is from Guatemala. Perez-Vasquez was deported in 2018 and has been in the US illegally.

Perez-Vasquez has been charged with resisting an officer with violence use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail on an ICE Hold.
