YUMA, AZ - On Monday, United States Border Patrol agents arrested Edgard Antonio Gutierrez-Martinez, who upon processing, was discovered to have been deported at least once.
Gutierrez-Martinez was convicted of incest and child rape, and deported after serving his prison sentence.
Of course, apprehending previously deported child rapists has become a very common occurrence along our largely unprotected southern border...
The Arizona Sun Times reported:
Between July 23 and July 30, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Arizona announced that they had arrested five previously-convicted sex offenders, all attempting to reenter the United States illegally.
Of those arrests, four of the attempted border-crossers had previously been convicted of sex crimes involving children.
Gutierrez-Martinez has been turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service, and is in custody at this time.
