WICHITA, KS - On September 7, police arrested Jaime Torres-Cordero, 39, following an investigation conducted by detectives with the Wichita Police Department’s Exploited and Missing Child Unit.
The victim was reportedly sexually abused over a period of several years.
“During the investigation, detectives developed cause to believe Torres-Cordero had engaged in unlawful sexual activity with a minor in the home,” Officer Trevor Macy said in a news release. “The unlawful sexual activity is believed to have occurred multiple times over a period of approximately six years.”
Torres-Cordero has been charged with rape (victim under 14), five counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, two counts of aggravated sodomy and indecent liberties with a child. He is currently being held at the Sedgwick County Jail on an ICE detainer.
*Though the fact that Torres-Cordero is in the country illegally is readily available from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, not one media outlet (except for US Illegal Alien Crime Report) felt it important enough to report.
