On November 30, Mexican authorities announced that convicted drug cartel leader Edgar Valdez-Villareal, 49, known as “La Barbie,” has mysteriously gone missing from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons (BOP) web site.
Though the prolific hitman who recorded himself decapitating his victims and smuggled enormous amounts of drugs into the United States for both the Sinaloa Cartel and later the Beltran Leyva Cartel, has a release date of July 27, 2056, he is now listed as “not in BOP custody.”
Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard told La Pais:
I still do not have confirmation that La Barbie has been released; that is, he is still in custody.
Valdez-Villareal was arrested in Mexico in 2010, following a shootout with the Mexican military, and extradited to the U.S. in 2015.
He was convicted in 2016 and two years later, sentenced to 49 years in federal prison.
On June 11, 2018, in a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office stated:
Edgar Valdez-Villareal, a/k/a La Barbie, who was born in the U.S. and rose to be a high-level leader of Mexico’s Beltran-Leyva Cartel, has been sentenced to 49 years and one month in federal prison on charges of cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
“Valdez-Villareal imported tons of cocaine into the U.S. while ruthlessly working his way up the ranks of one of Mexico’s most powerful cartels, leaving in his wake countless lives destroyed by drugs and violence,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak. “He will now go to federal prison for nearly the rest of his life. The highest levels of the Mexican drug cartels should know that, like La Barbie, they will be held accountable for their crimes.”
However, “La Barbie” has now been missing from the high-security US federal prison Coleman II, just outside of Orlando, Florida, for at least two weeks.
And, not the Department of Justice nor the Bureau of Prisons, nor anyone in the Biden administration has said a word about this high-profile serial killer/drug smuggler’s whereabouts.
As of the release of this article (6:30 pm on Dec. 13, 2022), the BOP website still states that Valdez-Villareal is "out of custody."
So, where is “La Barbie?”
Did the Biden administration make yet another secret deal to release a terrorist from incarceration in this country?
Don’t expect any answers from this nation’s current regime, nor any investigations from either wing of this country’s ‘uniparty,’ nor from the so-called ‘reporters’ in the mainstream press.
The real question this disappearance raises is just how much drug cartel money flows through the halls of Congress as well as the White House?
