STAMFORD, CT – On October 4, patrons of the Reyes Bar and Restaurant on Stillwater Avenue flagged down a police cruiser in an effort to help 37-year-old Isaias Sagastume-Aceitu. An officer found the man lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds.
Sagastume-Aceitu was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
An arrest warrant has since been issued for Samuel Delfiro Zapata-Herrera.
The Daily Voice reported:
Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin said that Sagastume-Aceitun was at the bar before getting into a struggle with two men who allegedly assaulted him. During the fight, Sagastume-Aceitun was repeatedly stabbed before stumbling away and collapsing down the road.
Police said that Zapata-Herrera has only made short stays in Stamford and could be attempting to make his way back to Guatemala. He’s been described as being approximately 5-foot-10 weighing 190 pounds. No other descriptive information was provided.
