SMITHFIELD, NC - On July 11, police arrested Giovanny Chavez-Hernandez, 19, following an investigation into a sexual assault he reportedly forced himself on a co-worker.
The Johnston County Report stated:
On July 22, 2020, the victim who was 17 years-old at the time, told police she was working at Dunkin’ Donuts at 1006 N. Brightleaf Boulevard when she was assaulted. The victim told police a co-worker had forced her to perform a sex act on him.
Chavez-Hernandez has been charged with second-degree forcible sex offense and two misdemeanor warrants for simple assault and sexual battery. He is currently being held at the Johnston County Jail on $150,000 bond.
*Despite his immigration status, Hernandez was working at the Dunkin’ Donuts on North Brightleaf Blvd., in Smithfield. He is no longer employed by the business, according to court documents.
