On Jan. 10, Hernandez was arrested in Portsmouth, Va., by both the Portsmouth police officers and Davidson County sheriff's deputies. On Jan. 25. the illegal alien was extradited to Davidson County (NC).
On Tuesday, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office issued a press release on the arrest. What follows is an excerpt from that statement:
In October of 2022, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division began investigating the report of past sexual abuse on a juvenile after a referral from the Winston Salem Police Department. Due to alleged Sexual Abuse occurring in both jurisdictions, the juvenile attended a forensic interview at the Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center located in Mocksville, North Carolina.
The juvenile disclosed sexual abuse by a family friend that occurred in the Thomasville Community. As a result of the investigation, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Portsmouth Virginia, and with the assistance of the Portsmouth Police Department arrested Raymundo Penaloza Hernandez...
Hernandez is currently being held at the Davidson County Jail on a $200,000 secured bond as well as an ICE hold, as the Forsyth County Jail is run by a so-called 'sanctuary sheriff' (Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr.).
The illegal alien who was living in Portsmouth, Va. at the time of his arrest is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 8.
