GARDNER, KS – On August 24, police responded to a call of a man lying unconscious on the ground, outside of the Walmart on East Santa Fe Street. They discovered a man unresponsive, lying in a pool of blood, the victim of a savage attack.
As it turns out, the victim is a tow truck driver who was in the process of removing a semi-truck that was left in the parking lot, when he was attacked, according to witnesses.
The attacker is Mustafa Egal, 38, who currently lives in Minneapolis, according to court documents.
FOX 4 reported:
Egal allegedly attempted to drive off, but instead he hit the tow truck with his semi.
Egal then got out of his truck and beat the victim with an iron bar, striking him at least three times in the head, according to court documents.
The beating victim suffered multiple fractures in his face, a severe laceration on his left ear, as well as brain damage.
Mustafa Egal has been charged with one count of aggravated battery with great bodily, and was released on $25,000 bond.
Egal, a Somali national, is due back in court on October 6.
