Illegal Alien From Jamaica Charged With Voting In Florida Elections

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - On Thursday, deputies arrested Alford Nelson, 57, following a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) investigation.


Samuels illegally cast two votes by mail under the alias Alford Nelson in two Broward County special elections, once on January 11, 2022, and again on March 8, 2022, according to court documents.


He reportedly used a fake birth certificate from New York City to register.


Samuels has a criminal record dating back to 1988. He has been convicted of 11 felonies, including convictions for trafficking in cocaine, multiple felony weapons charges and even for physically assaulting a police officer.

The long list of aliases Samuels has used over the years includes JOHN FORD, ALFORD A NELSON, ALFORD ALEXANDER NELSON, ALFRED NELSON, JIM NELSON, ALFRED SAMUELS, NATHANIEL SIMPSON, NATHANIEL JOHNSON SIMPSON and TRAVIS WILSON.


In a news release, the FDLE stated:


Samuels was admitted into the United States in 1977 as a lawful permanent resident, but never applied for naturalization and overstayed his original entry documents.

The illegal alien has been charged with two counts of voting as an unqualified elector, and is currently being held at the Broward County Jail on an ICE detainer.


If convicted, Samuels faces 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.


Samuels came to this country from Jamaica.
