DONNA, TX (KRGV) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations officers at the Donna International Bridge arrested a man with an outstanding warrant for a sexual offense against a child.

The arrest happened Jan. 13 as the man was returning from Mexico.

The officers referred the 42-year-old to a secondary inspection to confirm his identity and citizenship.

During the examination, CBP officers consulted law enforcement databases and conducted a fingerprint check which verified his identity as Francisco Cortez Elizama, a man wanted in Hidalgo County on an outstanding state arrest for child fondling.
