BASTROP, TX (KEYE TV) – One man is in jail for allegedly causing a double-fatal accident in Bastrop County early Sunday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of a Kia Optima struck a motorcycle with two passengers while traveling southbound on State Highway 95, five miles south of Elgin around 1:45 a.m.
Both occupants of the motorcycle died on-scene. They have been identified as Billy Wayne Funderburgh, 45, from Bastrop and Natalee Jean Funderburgh, 38, also from Bastrop,
The driver of the Kia, Rodolfo Campuzano, 38, from Spicewood, was arrested and is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
Campuzano is being held in the Bastrop County Jail on an ICE detainer.
