Illegal Alien Sentenced For Killing Two In Alcohol-Fueled Crash

CLARENDON HILLS, IL - On January 12, Juan Rodea-Cruz, 27, was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated DUI causing death. He has been held in custody since being charged in the deadly crash in 2019.

On October 20, 2019, Rodea-Cruz was driving on the wrong side of the road along Route 83, when he crashed head-on into another vehicle.

As a result, Marko Boskovic, 27, and Laura Uribe, 26, were taken to a local hospital, but were soon pronounced dead.

Two other passengers survived their injuries.

Police discovered the illegal alien inside his car with several empty beer and liquor bottles, according to court documents.

In a press release, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin stated:

This case is the definition of a tragedy…The senseless loss of two innocent lives will forever be on the shoulders of Mr. Rodea-Cruz. His decision to operate a motor vehicle after he had been drinking cost Marko Boskovic and Laura Uribe their lives.
To Marco’s and Laura’s surviving family and friends, I offer my sincerest condolences and wish them well as they continue their lives with just the memories of Marko and Laura to sustain them.

Judge Daniel Guerin sentenced Rodea-Cruz to 20 years in an Illinois state prison.
