TRENTON, NJ (NJ.com) – A man used an extension cord to kill his girlfriend Sunday night in a home in Trenton, authorities said.
Pablo Choc-Caal, 20, was arrested and charged with murder and weapons offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said in a news statement.
Trenton EMS responded to a medical call at a home on the 700 block of Anderson Street at about 10:45 p.m. and called police to the scene after finding a woman – later identified as Irma Patrona Ic-Maaz, 18 – on the floor of a second-floor bedroom.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives determined the couple got an argument before Choc-Caal used the extension cord to strangle Ic-Maaz. Choc-Caal was arrested at the home Sunday night.
Choc-Caal was taken to the Mercer County Correction Center pending a detention hearing in Superior Court, in Trenton.
