CONOVER, NC – Investigators from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office seized more than two ounces of crystal methamphetamine from a residence in Conover on Tuesday, according to Lt. Jason Reid.
Alexis Joe Ardorno-Diaz, 30, of Conover, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine by possession, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of sale and delivery, possession with intent to sell and deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor child abuse. He was given a $206,000 secured bond.
The department’s drug task force received a tip that led them to a mobile home park located at 5456 Crafter Lane Lot #9 and obtained a search warrant. During the search, officials identified Ardorno-Diaz as a large scale distributor of meth.
There were two children in the residence and the Department of Social Services was called to the scene.
The street value of the meth is estimated at $3,500 to $10,000, depending on how it would have been packaged and sold, Reid said.
