Illegal Aliens Caught Running Major Cocaine Ring

CHAPEL HILL, NC (WRAL) – A multi-agency investigation into a cocaine trafficking operation turned up more than $3 million worth of the drug after a search of a Chapel Hill home.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found 38 kilograms of suspected cocaine hydrochloride during the Sept. 23 search of a home at 131 Morton Road. The drugs had an estimated street value “well over” $3 million, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies also seized an estimated $530,000 of cash, which was packaged, sealed and prepared for transport out of the country. Five firearms, ammunition, a commercial-grade money counter, digital scales and several luxury vehicles were also taken from the home.

In connection with the investigation, five people were charged with trafficking a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a dwelling/place to sell or distribute cocaine, authorities said. All five were jailed under a $1 million bond. Those charged are:

–Carlos Ocegyeda-Serrano, 41

–Venusian Serrano-Mejia, 40

–Fernado Rivera-Hernandez, 45

–Christian Manor Gomez-Santos, 30
