PITT COUNTY, NC (The Daily Reflector) – A 24-year-old man was charged with driving while impaired after a wreck, and according to a note on his citation, ICE picked him up at the jail the next day, according to a weekly review of Pitt County court records.
German Trejo-Torres, 24, of 1242 Victor Drive, was in a wreck about 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 6 on Robert Drive, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
Torres was traveling east on Robert Drive toward Barrus Construction Road when he ran off the road to the left and hit the brick sign in front of the neighborhood. He also was charged with no operator’s license and careless and reckless driving.
He had red glassy eyes, was not steady of his feet, was sleeping, and his blood alcohol level was 0.17, according to records. A hand-written note on a sticky note attached to the citation in the Pitt County Clerk’s Office stated: “Defendant picked up by ICE @PCDC on 2-7-17.”
