The incident began Wednesday morning when Nicollet County Sheriff’s deputies spotted a vehicle in Lafayette that had been reported stolen from New Ulm earlier in the day.

Law enforcement pursued the vehicle at high speeds throughout the area; the chase involved deputies from Blue Earth and Brown County sheriff’s departments along with New Ulm and North Mankato police, and the State Patrol.

They will continue to interview people who saw or took part in the incident.

They expect to release the officers’ names and additional details at some point Friday when the first round of interviews is completed.

  1. Police officers in St.James, Mn have a corrupted criminal justice system. Peoples power should get together and make sure the Chief of police gets prosecuted for covering up this crime they have committed. All officers involved I think should get fired or overthrown. Enough is Enough. No more abusing of the mechanism of the power.
