Illegal Alien Charged With Killing Two People In North Carolina

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC – A man was accused Tuesday of causing the deaths of a man and woman in a vehicle wreck, court documents said.

Buena Ventura Fernandez was driving down the wrong way of N.C. 162, or Elk Road, on June 26 around 1:30 a.m. when he hit a motorcycle, according to court documents filed by North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper J. Davis.

The vehicle wreck led to the deaths of Scott Andrew Farr, 43, and Candee Lou Sommer, 42, who were on the motorcycle.

Fernandez, 49, of the 8800 block of Sonoma Court in Lumberton, was charged with two counts of death by motor vehicle, misdemeanor operating a vehicle without a license, misdemeanor exceeding speed and misdemeanor driving on the wrong side of a dual-lane highway.
