Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced the arrest of an Asheboro man after the execution of a search warrant in the Robbins area of Moore County.
On November 15, 2016 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 719 Bellview Road, Robbins, North Carolina. During a larceny-of-power investigation from Randolph Electric Membership Corporation, deputies found evidence of an indoor marijuana growing operation. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, deputies discovered a large elaborate indoor marijuana growing operation and seized: 109 marijuana plants, growing lights, fans, carbon dioxide cylinders, electric transformers, electric capacitors, fertilizer and other items used in the agricultural process. The total weight of the marijuana plants seized by deputies was 606 pounds.
Sheriff Godfrey stated “this was the most sophisticated indoor growing operation that deputies have ever found in Moore County.” Sheriff Godfrey added that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are anticipated.
The street value of the seized marijuana was approximately $2,121,000.00.

Jose Ginante Aliaga was arrested and charged with: trafficking of marijuana, the manufacturing of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled-substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony larceny and property damage. Aliaga was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $200,000.00 secured bond with a November 22, 2016 Moore County District Court date.
