HIDALGO COUNTY, TX (CBS 4 News) – Federal agents arrested a 27-year-old McAllen man last week on a child pornography charge.
Homeland Security Investigations — a division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — arrested Jorge Trevino-Blanco, 27, of McAllen last week, according to Hidalgo County jail records.
The investigation started during mid-October, when federal agents identified a computer sharing child pornography, according to the federal criminal complaint. Homeland Security Investigations traced the computer’s Internet Protocol address to McAllen.
On Friday, agents executed a search warrant at Trevino’s home. They recovered two laptop computers and an external hard drive.
“A preliminary on-site forensic computer examination revealed approximately 150 video files suspected of depicting child pornography on the laptop from the closet, approximately 10 video files suspected of depicting child pornography on the laptop from the room and approximately 50 video files suspected of depicting child pornography on the external hard drive,” according to the criminal complaint.
Agents arrested Trevino and charged him with receipt of child pornography.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos ordered Trevino held until a detention hearing on Thursday.
Trevino’s attorney couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
