ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC (The Times-News) – The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for alleged sex offenses with a juvenile.
A be-on-the-lookout has been issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies for Ube Castaneda-Lagunas, 34, last known to live at 51 Jennifer Drive, Graham.
The sheriff’s office reports that the suspect goes by Ube Castaneda.
Castaneda is wanted for five counts of indecent liberties with a child, arrest warrants for which were obtained by the sheriff’s office Aug. 23.
He has not shown up to work at his job in southern Alamance County since learning he was wanted on the charges.
Investigators believe Castaneda may be staying in the area of West Greensboro Chapel Hill Road, though his job takes him across the state and he is sometimes gone for days at a time, the sheriff’s office reported.
An investigation into the alleged offenses began in early March, said Kirk Puckett, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. The victim and Castaneda knew one another.
Anyone with information on Castaneda’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 336-570-6300 or Alamance County-Wide Crimestoppers at 336-229-7100.
