Deported Drug Offender Re-Arrested In Texas

McAllen, TX (CBS 4) – Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican man with a felony drug conviction last week near Pharr.

Agents arrested Ricardo Arturo Aguilar-Guerrero, 39, a Mexican citizen who lived in McAllen, on Wednesday.

The federal government deported Aguilar during December 2016 after he pleaded guilty to possession of less than 1 gram of cocaine, a state jail felony.

“The defendant claims to have illegally entered the United States on June 15, 2017, near Hidalgo, Texas,” according to the federal criminal complaint against him.

Aguilar is charged with illegal re-entry.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos ordered him held without bond.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Aguilar, who remains in federal custody and couldn’t be reached for comment.
