Police responded to the crash on Route 9 and Bay Way at 4:51 a.m. There they found a 31-year-old woman had been walking east on Bay Way near Route 9 when a vehicle hit her from behind and did not stop, Lacey police said.

Police say the woman was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where she was treated with serious injuries.
