ZEBULON, NC (WRAL) – One person died and two more were seriously injured early Saturday morning when an SUV crashed head-on into another vehicle in Johnston County.
State Highway Patrol troopers said Eutiquio Flores, the driver of a Nissan Xterra, was traveling southbound on N.C. Highway 39 near Wlider Road around midnight when the car crossed over the center line south of Zebulon and crashed into a Buick SUV driven by Brandon Boykin that was traveling the opposite direction.
Both vehicles went off the road and in a ditch.
Authorities said all the victims were pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
Sharon Boykin, of Louisburg, a passenger in the Buick, died, and both drivers were seriously injured.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
