CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Deputies in Union County are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection to the alleged rape and assault of a teenage girl.
Luis Alberto Cruz-Rojas, 29, is wanted on two counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree kidnapping and assault on a female.
Investigators said the teenage victim is an acquaintance of Cruz-Rojas. They said Cruz-Rojas reportedly assaulted the victim on more than one occasion earlier this year.
Deputies said when Cruz-Rojas found out about the investigation, he allegedly assaulted the victim’s mother before fleeing the area. His whereabouts are unknown, but he was most recently living in the Indian Trail area and previously had an address in the 1500 block of Walkup Avenue in Monroe, officials said.
Cruz-Rojas could be operating a late 90s-early 2000s model Ford Explorer with an unknown tag number.
