CANDOR, NC (The Courier-Tribune) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public in locating the suspect of a shooting that took place in Candor Oct. 5.
According to Sheriff Chris Watkins, the suspect, Eduardo “Lalo” Jaimes Ramirez, 42, is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Ramirez, whose last known address was 115 Greenvale Road, Asheboro, was at an automotive repair shop on Pratt Drive in the Bell Acres Community with the victim, Vincent Everette, 51, and a third individual Friday, Oct. 5.
The three were working on a vehicle that Ramirez had at the location.
Watkins stated that Ramirez and Everette began arguing around noon and the two went outside.
Everette allegedly returned to the shop a short time later and told the third individual working with them that Ramirez shot him.
Everette was reportedly shot twice in the chest and once in the face with a small caliber revolver that authorities recovered at the scene.
He was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill in critical condition, but is now in recovery.
Ramirez fled on foot after the shooting. Dogs were utilized in an attempt to track and locate the suspect, but authorities were unable to locate him.
Ramirez also has outstanding warrants for his arrest in Guilford and Randolph counties.
