SANFORD, NC (The Fayetteville Observer) – A report of suspicious activity in a Sanford neighborhood Friday near San-Lee Park led to the arrests of two men and the seizure of drugs, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrived on Russell Street, off Clearwater Drive, to find a vehicle with three people inside parked in the middle of the road, Sheriff’s Office release said.
As deputies approached, they detected an “overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle,” the release said.
Deputies searched the vehicle and the men and seized 3.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.
Fabio Cesar Perez, 22, of the 3100 block of Rosser Pittman Road in Broadway, was charged with possessing methamphetamine, maintaining a drug vehicle and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set at $10,000.
Luis Angel Perez, 19, of the same address, was charged with possessing cocaine, possessing marijuana, maintaining a drug vehicle and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail for Luis Perez, who also was wanted for breaking and entering, larceny and possessing stolen property, was set at $16,000.
