Pair Of Illegal Aliens Caught Selling Heroin In North Carolina

LEXINGTON, NC (The Winston-Salem Journal) – Two women are in jail under $500,000 bail each on drug charges.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit arrested Lilia Suarez Vera and Maria Paola on Thursday during a traffic stop at Belmont Road and Old Salisbury Road, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Vera, 26, of 377 Helen Young Drive was charged with trafficking opium/heroin, possession of paraphernalia and providing fictitious information to an officer.

Paola, 19, of the same residence was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the investigation, detectives seized $8,774 in cash and 99 oxycodone tablets.

Both were placed in Davidson County jail and are scheduled to appear in court Nov. 30.
