FREMONT COUNTY, IA (Fox News 42) – Officers with the Fremont County Sheriff’s department arrested a man Sunday afternoon for having 18 pounds of meth in his car.
Police say they pulled over Javier Romero-Ochoa, 33, for several traffic violations. A police dog uncovered the methamphetamine that officials say has a street value of $230,000.
Deputies arrested Ochoa on Interstate 29 near the 6 mile marker. Ochoa is facing charges that include possession with plans to distribute and driving a car without a valid license.
Police say he is now in Fremont County Jail on $100,000 cash bond.
