Previously Deported Child Molester Re-Arrested In Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release…

U.S. Border Patrol agents on July 30 arrested an individual attempting to enter the United States by crossing the Rio Grande River near the River Hill Subdivision in Laredo, Texas.

The individual was later identified as Paulino Vazquez-Vazquez, 35, a Mexican national who had been previously deported from the country. Record checks revealed Vazquez had a prior felony conviction of a sexual offense against a child. Vasquez was arrested in 2011 by the Angier Police Department in Harnett County, North Carolina for indecent liberties with a child.

In 2012, Vasquez was convicted and sentenced to 13-16 months confinement for the sex crime. Vasquez will be criminally prosecuted for his illegal re-entry into the United States and will be deported once criminal proceedings have been completed.

“Preventing this criminal from re-entering our country and committing another heinous crime is one of many examples that illustrate how the United States Border Patrol keeps our communities safe,” said Laredo Sector Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta.
