TRENTON, NJ (The Trentonian) – A man accused of have sex with an underage girl was turned over to immigration enforcement officials following his arrest last week.
Kevin Cisneros, 19, was arrested Thursday morning by members of the U.S. Marshals Service, who then turned him over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Officials say local police were notified in January that Cisneros was involved in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female. Police say Cisneros was 18-years-old when personnel from the Division of Child Protection and Permanency notified law enforcement about his relationship with the young girl.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, warrants were issued for Cisneros’ arrest and he was apprehended at his Culbertson Avenue apartment by U.S. Marshals. He is charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
When contacted via email regarding Cisneros’ possible deportation, ICE spokesperson Khaalid Walls replied, “this action is consistent with routine, targeted enforcement efforts carried out by ICE officers every day in which specific individuals are sought.”
