Texas police are searching for an illegal immigrant accused of raping a disabled teenager.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department said 25-year-old Jesus Atrian broke into a family’s home Monday afternoon andsexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl with Down syndrome.
According to KHOU-TV, the victim and her family apparently knew Atrian, who already had a warrant out for his arrest at the time of the incident.
Authorities told TheBlaze Atrian was already “likely deported” at least once.Atrian has been arrested three times since 2008, including twice for public intoxication and more recently in 2012 for sexual contact with an 8-year-old girl, according to public records.
Sheriff’s investigator Jarred Norris told The Blaze that Atrian was released on probation in 2011 and, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Greg Palmore, was“likely deported” back to his home country of Mexico. He was assessed as a “low risk,” according to records from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Friendswood Journal newspaper reported that Atrian is currently registered as a sexoffender. According to KHOU, he has no known address. It is believed that he is trying to get back to Mexico.
Atrian has multiple tattoos on his face and body, including ones spelling out his first and last name near each of his eyes and on his arms. He also has the name “Adrianna” tattooed above his right eyebrow.
Police are searching for Atrian less than two months after another illegal immigrant allegedly gunned down Kathryn Steinle on a San Francisco pier. The accused, Francisco Sanchez, had previously been deported five times. He was released from jail in San Francisco earlier this year, despite ICE requesting that he be kept in custody.
In Texas, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to contact to law enforcement with any information that could lead to Atrian’s arrest.
